Empowering San Antonio Students Since 1968

Project STAY serves our inner-city community through educational opportunities, fostering personal growth and leadership, and promoting economic mobility.

Project Stay, Inc. is a private, nonprofit TRIO program that provides assistance to underrepresented students, helping them overcome socioeconomic barriers to higher education.

Since 1968, the program has helped over 100,000 students in San Antonio pursue a college education. Project STAY Inc. pioneered the idea of developing educational opportunities for our community’s youth, and it is this commitment that has earned the program the trust of second and third-generation students, characterizing the value of this agency in the community. All Project STAY, Inc. services are FREE to eligible students.

Our Mission

Project STAY, Inc. is dedicated to supporting the inner-city youth of San Antonio in pursuing postsecondary education by providing practical guidance and reliable information. In today’s economy, higher education and workforce training are essential for long-term job security and upward mobility. By promoting hard work, self-reliance, and educational achievement, we aim to strengthen our community and prepare the next generation for success.

College Admission

Project STAY advisors will assist students in all steps of the college admission process. This Includes:

Financial Aid

Project STAY advisors will inform students and parents about the different types of financial aid and scholarships available and assist with the completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) along with any other college-specific financial aid forms required. Advisors will review award letters with students and parents and assist with accepting awards. Because the FAFSA must be completed annually, advisors will help students reapply for aid every year until they obtain their postsecondary degree.
